Book Review

How can feminist perspectives permeate and inform online learning? How can instructional design and assessment be informed by feminist perspectives and understanding? This edited volume examines these questions and the experiences that interdisciplinary and global feminist educators have had — both their successes and their challenges — in infusing feminist pedagogical tenets into their online teaching and learning practices. Thirty-four contributors explore ways to promote connection, reflexivity and embodiment, to build equity, cooperation and co-education, and to create cultures of care in the online classroom. It is a practical collection. Some chapters explore specific challenges (feminist approaches to geography, for example) and are full of insights and suggestions for practice.
