Book Review

This is a pioneering collection of chapters covering the development of upskilling, reskilling and digital badges from their beginnings to early 2016. While exploring the underpinnings of these developments — theory and philosophy — it also examines the technology landscape, instructional design challenges and case studies of practice. Although overly expensive at $500 (hardcover), it is still worth exploring and should be in the library of any institution that sees micro-credentials and badges as mission-critical to their strategy.
