Mangaroska, K. & Giannakos, M. (2018). Learning Analytics for Learning Design: A Systematic Literature Review of Analytics-Driven Design to Enhance Learning. This is a prepublication research paper from IEEE Transactions on Learning Technologies
There is a growing and important literature on how learner analytics can be used to improve the design of learning and teaching. While a new space for designers, analytics creates opportunities to use rigours data to shape better and smarter decisions about what works and doesn’t work for different kinds of learners. This well-written paper is a great “kick-off” for anyone new to this work.
