Learn About the Impact Micro-Credentials Will Have
on Post-Secondary Education

Wednesday, August 18, 2021
7:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. (Eastern Time)

Register Now!

Micro-credentials are quickly emerging as a response to the urgent need to reskill and upskill many who find their future disrupted by COVID-19.

But what impact will these have on the “core” work of our colleges and universities – the teaching and awarding of certificates, diplomas and degrees, and the completion of apprenticeships?

In this interactive webinar, participants will:

  • Develop an understanding of the challenge posed by micro-credentials to the design and development of certificate, diploma and degree programs of study.
  • Understand the link between standards-based assessment and more traditional approaches to assessment used in longer-form learning.
  • Explore the design and development implications of stackable micro-credentials for diplomas and degrees.

The 60-Year Curriculum - New Models for Lifelong Learning in the Digital Economy

cn-july282021-6a.jpg

Edited by Christopher J. Dede & John Richards (2020)

We need to start thinking strategically about lifelong learning as a response to rapid change in the global economy and emerging demographic shifts. These changes are happening right in front of us, and our colleges and universities need to think about whether their current programs and modes of operation need to be reimagined and redesigned. This book will help. With some case examples and insightful commentary, the collection of readings will inspire and encourage a healthy conversation about "what's next?". The title is important: will the learning students undertake at your institution prepare them for the turbulence they will experience in the next sixty years of their life? It is a good question.
