Ashton, K. (2015). How to Fly a Horse: The Secret History of Creation, Invention and Discovery. New York: Doubleday.
Kevin Ashton is the man who coined the term “the Internet of Things”. The book explores how innovation actually occurs and what it takes to go from a big idea to fully realizing that idea. The title comes from the big idea the Wright brothers had following a visit to a bicycle store in Ohio. There are some surprises in this book, but it is important for those of us engaged with technology in learning since the book describes how our big ideas about technology-enabled learning need to be more grounded before they will become a reality for our students.
