Definition of Fluency


Digital fluency is the knowledge and skills to use technology responsibly and securely to find information and evaluate its reliability, communicate, create, learn and work online, and understand how technology impacts our lives.

Locating Content 
Ability to find information on the Internet using a variety of sources and search strategies.
 

Evaluating content
Ability to assess the credibility of Internet sources using a variety of techniques.
 

Communicating
Connect with and collaborate with others using various digital tools.
 

Creating 
Ability to design, produce, and share digital objects using a variety of tools.
 

Learning online 
Ability to use learning management systems, learn from non-formal sources, take tests, and collaborate.
 

Working online 
Ability to use common digital tools, collaborate, and manage time for activities outside of formal education.
 

Recognizing societal impact 
Ability to be aware of the impact of technology on society and on oneself.
