Book Review

Much effort is going into improving faculty and students’ digital fluency and skills. Emerging tools, fluency assessments and short courses are appearing worldwide. This book, written with a strong Scandinavian cadre of contributors, looks at the evidence of digital competence among both faculty and students, and then examines what needs to happen to dramatically improve digital skills. There is a strong focus on skill development, but the authors are aware that digital infrastructure needs to be enhanced, as does affordability and accessibility. Students are often more competent in digital skills than faculty; some are so expert, in fact, that they could design the learning in which all of us need to continually engage.
