Creating online learning experiences that promote care are crucial to ensure all students have the resources, opportunities and support they need to succeed and thrive in a remote learning environment.
During this interactive session, we explore the concept of equitable communities of care and how it applies to online education. We discuss the importance of addressing the needs of all students, regardless of their background or circumstances, and the role of emotional and social support in creating a safe and supportive learning environment.
By the end of this webinar, you will have a deeper understanding of how to create educational experiences that are supportive, inclusive and considerate of the needs and perspectives of all participants, and you’ll have the tools to put this into practice. What’s Next for Micro-Credentials?
Micro-credentials must be industry-supported, available on demand, leading to demonstrable skills, portable and connected to a larger competency framework. To unlock their potential, backward design must be implemented to design competency-based assessments based on industry needs and curate learning activities to complete the assessment. Expanding places in existing programs, new pathways to skills and certification, public-private partnerships, new program domains, and recognizing immigrants’ skills are additional responses to the skills and productivity challenge. A systematic, coordinated, Canada-wide response is necessary, and a national qualifications framework may be needed to address the issue.
