From Idea to Application: Technology Enhanced Learning Design at The Open University, United Kingdom

Technology Enhanced Learning in the Learning and Teaching Innovation portfolio at United Kingdom’s Open University (OU) works as part of a team effort on the design of all new modules developed at the OU. Recent projects in adaptive and collaborative learning highlight the design process, with its focus on student success, the use of learning analytics and the importance of a continuous improvement process.

In this Contact North I Contact Nord series, Open Education Resources (OER) Applications from Around the World, we explore thirteen examples of how OER are developed, integrated and used for teaching, learning and organizational change. 

Three of the applications highlight approaches from the Middle East, Asia and Latin America. 

Investments in OER development and training for faculty, staff and students at Notre Dame University in Lebanon aim to deepen student engagement and capacity as self-directed learners.

Development of three OER courses at Wawasan University in Malaysia resulted in both student satisfaction and cost efficiencies.
