The Future of Learning Management Systems (LMS)

Thursday, June 9, 2020
1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. (ET)

LMS are changing.

Explore with Phil Hill:

  • What is likely to happen to the platforms themselves?
  • What is changing now and what will change in the future?
  • How will AI and augmented reality impact the LMS?
  • What is likely to happen to the platforms themselves?

Must-Read Books on Online Learning

Must-Read Books on Online Learning features books and articles of interest to those involved in the expansion and improvement of online learning.

Zhadko, O. and Ko, S. (2019). Best Practices in Designing Courses with Open Education Resources. London: Routledge.

Open education resources (OER) present a major opportunity to think differently about design, deployment and delivery of an online course. Not only do these lower the cost of learning for the student (something we should be especially conscious of at this time), but they increase the flexibility of design and enable a stronger and more authentic learning experience than is often possible when using a standard textbook. This is a very practical book and will help faculty find, adapt and shape their use of OER. Full of best practice examples, it is well written, clear and practical.
