Book Review

An instructor’s assessment identity is challenging. Having built strong relationships with students and engaged them in a learning journey, we also have to make judgements about them.  More significantly, the work of assessment is a nuanced enterprise where the intention is both to provide feedback, support and encouragement while at the same time offering a grade. Is this essay an 82 or an 88? This project better than that one? This second edition of this popular text is well written, focused and a real help to instructors, especially those struggling with their assessment identities.
