The opening up of the world of generative AI to teachers and students has sent shock waves through the world of education. Many have responded with fear, opting to find tools and strategies to ban the technology to protect established methods of teaching, learning and assessment. However, the current and emerging state of AI provides an opportunity to reimagine the way we teach, engage students in the learning process and rethink assessment. Rather than focusing solely on “sage on the stage” knowledge transfer, what if we used AI as a tool to design and deliver new models of teaching, learning and assessment that we know from 30+ years of education research lead to better academic and life outcomes for our students?

In this engaging and interactive presentation, participants are introduced to the story so far of AI and education, and explore how to use it to design, teach and assess learning.

Key takeaways:

This webinar will help you to:

  • Understand the story so far of AI & Education, and where we are right now.
  • Explore the technical, ethical and cultural fear and risks associated with the rise of AI in the education context.
  • Understand the opportunities for re-imaging pedagogy (teaching, learning & assessment) offered by AI, and what it takes to achieve this.
