Michael teaches courses in geotechnical and foundation engineering, engineering economics, communications and senior design project courses. He is a graduate of Civil Engineering and Management and also holds a Masters in Engineering, both from McMaster. Michael also holds an executive-MBA from Western University, and is currently a PhD. candidate in the Dept. of Civil Engineering at McMaster focusing on earthquake engineering. Michael worked for Bermingham Foundation Solutions (now Soletanche-Bachy Canada) for 18-years prior to his current position at McMaster. In his work with Bermingham, Michael travelled to over 40 countries and has worked on major civil engineering projects on 6 continents. In 2019, Michael won the President’s Award for Outstanding Contributions to Teaching and Learning – McMaster’s highest honour for teaching and learning. Michael has been using the Lightboard for teaching since 2016.
