Open education resources (OER) present a major opportunity to think differently about design, deployment and delivery of an online course. Not only do these lower the cost of learning for the student (something we should be especially conscious of at this time), but they increase the flexibility of design and enable a stronger and more authentic learning experience than is often possible when using a standard textbook. This is a very practical book and will help faculty find, adapt and shape their use of OER. Full of best practice examples, it is well-written, clear and practical.
