In this webinar, you will learn what online and distance education research has to say about student experiences.

  • Bring more care and empathy to online teaching.

During the first 30 minutes of this interactive webinar, Dr. Veletsianos will offer his expertise and practical advice on the topic. The remaining 30 minutes will involve a moderated question and answer session with Dr. Veletsianos.

Dr. George Veletsianos is Professor and Canada Research Chair in Innovative Learning and Technology in the School of Education and Technology at Royal Roads University, British Columbia. He also holds the Commonwealth of Learning Chair in Flexible Learning. He is the author of the book Learning Online – The Student Experience, in which he argues that to improve online learning, we must examine it through the lens of the student experience. His research focuses on digital learning and teaching. He aims to develop practical solutions to the problems facing education, while also problematizing common assumptions about the use of technology in education. Dr. Veletsianos wrote and/or edited six books, and has individually and collaboratively published more than 80 peer-reviewed papers and book chapters.
